Spring 2014 is here!

So last Thursday, the Spring 2014 items were released...

...and I died at all the cute stuff!

I've been trying not to stalk the site because I'm holding onto my sanity until my bday shopping spree next week (FYI I'm going CRAY CRAY with my order!), on top of using my Birthday discount at my Sig store.

Me on the inside.
I'm having difficulty deciding what I want to buy when I get there, and it sucks. I of course want a Vera tote and a lunch tote, since I tend to get them as a set. But what color do I get?? I adore Blue Bayou, and Clementine...and Julep Tulip! See my dilemma?! I also want to venture out into other styles. I have tons of Vera totes and Tote-totes (ha), but I want to try out a Glenna, a crossbody or one of those new totes; that Bucket tote and the Curvy tote look reeeeeally cute... I also need a new messenger bag or backpack because it's back to grad school in 2 week (just one more semester after this God willing!).

*sigh*...decisions, decisions.

I know for sure what I'm ordering off the site. My online cart is NO JOKE. It's been ready for WEEKS. Fully prepared to spend this money and giving zero fucks...cause it's my birthday month y'all!

Now, onto something a little fantastic...

today I found out about Julep Tulip Black and HOLYFUCKINGSHITIAMDEAD.
What in the blue hell? HOW in the blue hell did I miss THIS?!:

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

So I guess in my attempt to behave myself, I missed this one! A Julep Tulip hybriddddddddd! I must have one! And now I have so many questions!!! Are they making bags in this? If so, which ones? When will they be available?? I NEED ANSWERSSSSSS!

I just about dropped when I caught wind of this via VeraObsessed's insta. I wonder what other tricks Vera has up their sleeve this year. Theres no swatch of this obviously but I decided to play around and make a pretend one.

I repeat, THIS IS NOT THE REAL SWATCH. AT ALL.
How'd I do?
And apparently I've been spelling Julep Tulip WRONG this whole time...wtf?

So I'll probably pop back in a few days to share the spoils of my treasure hunt at my Sig store.

Preview Time - Clementine

Sooo yes Vera already previewed this print last month, but I never went into detail about...

Clementine!
I love Clementine. I really do. It's the perfect spring print! It has flowers, pinks, purples, yellows and greens; all things that spring is all about! It's put together in a way that is not overwhelming, just beautiful! This is what spring looks like!

I love the interior print; it has this snake skin quality to it, but it looks hand drawn with crayon or colored pencils. Just GORGEOUS!

Oh! Just looking at this make me want a glass of lemonade on my momma's porch...but since the temp outside is in the low 30's, I'll have to wait until spring actually gets here for that! Hopefully when that time comes, I'll be able to have an ensemble like this:

Preview Time - Julep Tulip

Today we got a Closer Look at what may be my new favorite....

My body is ready for Julep Tulip!

SOOOOOOOOO yea I am in LURVE with this print! Seeing it enlarged, I love everything about it; both interior and exterior prnts, the color scheme, the designs, the  little intricate features that are just fab!

Where do I begin?

Well, for one you all know I'm a girlie girl. I love pinks and purples and their variant shades. So of COURSE I'm going to go bananas over the purple (well Vera says violet) and magenta! However the star in this print is that green! And not just any green...a natural, earthy grass green that I LOVE!

Gah!

This print SCREAMS Spring, right?! It reminds me of a pretty bouquet, or a field of....wait for it...TULIPS! (see what I did there ahahaha?!)

So I definitely plan on picking up some items in this print. You see guys?! THIS is why January is the BEST MONTH EVER (aside from it being the month I was born hehe!), we always get blessed with fab spring colors from Vera! Here's an ensemble I actually plan on wearing this month...
Can I just say that I love the Neoprene Laptop case having the interior print! Cuteness!!!!!!!

So tomorrow I will talk about Clementine! Yes, I know it was previewed last month...but I wanted to discuss the Spring colors as a group, so I waited.

See you all then, fellow citizens!

Preview Time - Citron

Today, Vera gave us a closer look at Blue Bayou's fraternal twin...

Citron!:
Okay...so this print has grown on me over the last month or so. I like it, it's neutral...but it's not. Does that make sense? Probably not...but you know what I'm talking about.

It's amazing how you can take the same print, re-color it, and the result has a totally different personality. Blue Bayou is just bold, bright, and playful all over. Citron is calmer and muted, with a just a pop of boldness.

When I first saw the swatch months ago, I had no clue what these colors were except for the white and black. The background print looked brown, then gray, then khaki...so I settled on khaki as the color. Then the florescent color reminded me of a hi-liter, so I figured it was yellow....well I was wrong-o.

VB classified the colors as bold green and neutral gray...I guess so. Looking at it blown up, I can see a slight difference between the "kiwi" green and the green on the petals. And that gray still looks brown to me.

As soon as I saw it today, I immediately thought of going to the gym! The yellow/green reminds me of some workout clothes I own, and I just LOVE it on the new gym bag!

Preview Time - Blue Bayou

Vera has begun previewing the spring colors on their Inside Stitch blog! *squeee*

First color up: Blue Bayou!

Aaaaaahhhhh look at it! I have never been in love with BLUE so much! It's so vibrant and bold and just...wow! How can anyone not like this?!?!

The interior print is a petal-like chevron that reminds me of the water I swam in while on vacay St. Lucia many moons ago (I need to go back!).

What really brings the blue out is that white floral print, man! You absolutely must keep this print away from dirt or dust, that white is what makes it werk!

Here's a cute little outfit I pieced together with some of the items previewed on verabradley.com:

Baby on board!

I'm currently sitting on a bus on the way to grad school, and I felt the need to randomly update before I'm bogged down with work. This is my first post from my phone, so let's see how this goes. I can't add my tags yet, I'll add them later.

I think I've posted a lot this month...October is turning out to be crazy as hell, in both good and bad ways. Here's some good for ya:

So a few posts ago I threw out into the universe that the powers-at-be in Veraland might be wrapping up the baby line. I figured since they were retiring Lola and Lilli Bell, which are two out of the three prints on the line. WELLLLLL I like to be wrong in this case!

As always my Vera-godmother Veraobsessed dropped one on me and I am loving this:

Do you see?! Not only are there baby clothes in Clementine and it looks like Flutterby, but I SEE BABY BOY CLOTHES!

My feels! I can't contain them!
 photo feels_zps16def63e.gif

Yes, from what it looks like, they are launching a line for boys! I'm thinking that it's in Venetian Paisley, I'm making out the blue and white chevron from the interior print it comes in. But VeraObsessed thinks it's Blue Bayou since the other colors are Spring 2014 colors as well, which makes sense. Score for them, because there are some citizens of Veraland that have baby boys, it's time for all babies to be dressed in Vera equally!

Also a cute surprise: the bottom rack has some SWIMSUITS on there!!! OMG I can't! Can you imagine cute little legs running on the beach with a Vera swimmie on?! I die! This is making me want one of my friends to hurry up and have a baby already (because I'm not lol)!!

So there is some hope for the new items replacing the retired stuff. They've gotten a couple brownie points since the retirement bomb dropped on us, here's to hoping that there is more good stuff up their sleeves!

Going Retirement Crazy...

So VeraObsessed let us in on some 411 that is really shocking. Apparently the folks at Vera are bringing back as well as creating new styles, because they are retiring a whole LOTTA stuff! A few things aren't shocking because they've had a long rack life, but SOME of these things are either BRAND SPANKING NEW or are STAPLES in my and other women's lives (Warning: I will rant at the bottom, and I may curse. You have been forewarned...)

Styles retiring soon:
100 Handbag
Mom's Day Out
Two Way Tote
Grand Tote (WHAT?!?!)
Double Zip Backpack
MESSENGER BAG (NOOOOOOOOOOOO)
Ereader Sleeve
Laptop Sleeve
Strap Wallet
Jewelry Folio
Square Ribbon Board
Baby Dish Set

Styles set to retire in Spring 2014:
Convertible Crossbody
All In One Wristlet
MILLER BAG (Holyf**kings**t IS YOU CRAZY?!)
Zip Around Wallet
Small Duffel (*crying*)
Garment Bag
Laura
Medium Hanging Ornament
Little Flap Hipster
Compact
Checkbook Cover
All in One Crossbody
Mirror Cosmetic

HOLY MACKEREL!

To make things even more cray cray, they are planning to retire the following prints:

Even nuttier...this morning I woke up to a freaking 70% OFF SALE ON VERABRADLEY.COM
DAAAAAAAMMMMNNN

WTF it's like they have gone nuts! They are giving shit away like it's set to self destruct in 5 minutes. I feel like they're not even giving some styles a chance! For goodness sakes Cocoa Moss, Lola, and La Neon Rose just came out this season. I know La Neon Rose was supposed to be limited, but come on! I don't even like Lola but I know people who do....this sucks for them.

Baroque, Indigo Pop, and Va Va Bloom have been around for at least a year, so I'm not so shocked, but styles that came out in as many months as I have fingers on one hand...come on guys....

It looks like they're wrapping up the baby line too, both baby prints (Lola and Lilli Bell) are retiring next year. They're keeping Tutti Frutti but are retiring Sun Valley...WTAF, if they're going to retire anything out of that whole line, retire THAT! I love Sun Valley so I'm a little shocked at this....

...but not as shocked as them retiring the freaking MILLER, GRAND TOTE, SMALL DUFFEL, and MESSENGER BAG! Why?!?! I could tell that the Miller was always a nice go-to bag. I don't own one, but my co-workers sure do and to say they were not amused was an understatement. The Grand Tote is a GREAT overnight bag, as is the Small Duffel, which is also a good gym bag. I LOVE my Messenger, it holds my life together when I'm commuting to school and running for the bus to go home. These styles are so practical that they BETTER have something to knock my damn socks off to replace them. I'm DEFINITELY buying some shit before they retire.

I don't know guys, what do you think? Are you excited for new styles (I'll talk about those later)? Are you upset about some of the items on the chopping block?

Spring 2014 Preview...Oh Em Geez...

Well, the past few days have been pretty live in the Land of Vera! Why, you ask?

BECAUSE IT'S PREVIEW TIME!!!!

As of yesterday, the Spring 2014 prints will be previewed in select Vera Bradley stores. Thanks to the fabulous VeraObsessed and lisalovesverabradley, we all were able to sneak a peek...and I am confident in stating that these prints are FABULOUSSSSSS!!!!

Prepare your bodies for:

Julep Tulip

Clementine

Blue Bayou

Citron

Can I just say WOAH? Firstly, this has to be the first time that ALL the prints released for the season dazzle me. Usually each batch has one print that I'm not too crazy about, a.k.a. prints I HATE (Tutti Fruiti, Lola, etc.) but I have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS about this batch! That's not to say that no one else will have gripes (my sis thinks Citron should be called 'Kiwi-tron'...she's 12 btw) and I can totally see it, but I'm not averse to any of these.

A first.

My absolute favorite at the moment is Clementine. How can it not be? It's totally gorge! It looks like a print I can take out on a park picnic and have a glass of lemonade with. The colors scream "Springtime", and the interior is equally beautiful. It reminds me of snakeskin, with the diamond pattern. HOWEVER...Julep Tulip is giving Clementine a run for it's money. These colors remind me of my BFF's wedding colors (that berry-like purple and the olive green)...I'm wishing this print came out LAST year, she gave us gifts that coordinated with the colors, and a cute cosmetic pouch or accessory would have gone nicely, I think.
Can you see it???
Now, this Blue Bayou for some reason reminds me of Hawaii....when I think of the word 'bayou' I think of Louisiana...and this print, to me, is more of a 'lagoon' if that makes sense.
Bayou
 vs.
Lagoon

But word definitions aside, this print is very striking! The white flowers and leaves seem to pop out against the bold blue background. Its definitely a print I can see at the beach or on a cruise vacation...anyplace with water.

Now if I had to rank these based on the color schemes, Citron would be considered my least favorite of the 4. I like this print and would definitely consider it for a wristlet or traveling tote, but when you compare it to the other three, it definitely falls behind. With that being said, Citron has it's plus factors: it would look great against a pair of jeans, and I for sure can see it being used for a work tote; the dark grey wouldn't get dirty as fast as the others. It definitely jumps up the ranks when you're rating them for practical use.

Each bag has an interior to die for, very complimentary and if you were so bold you could rock the bags inside out and no one would know.

All in all I'm very pleased with the upcoming prints...Clementine is supposed to be getting an extra-special preview again in December so stay tuned, fellow citizens!

Side note: be sure to check out all the cool Citizens of Vera in my sidebar! I get a lot of info and incite from these gals *waves to vera-vera-vera*, and they know their Vera! Pop over and say hey!
