Finally Flower Shower

Howdy! Hope everyone's thanksgiving was good and fat! Now, let's talk Vera!

So last month I gave my opinions on most the Summer 2014 colors, but not all because I wasn't able to get a pic of Flower Shower on merchandise. I have one now!

Now I can see colors clearly. At first I thought the background was sort of grey, now I can tell it's brown. I get the "shower" concept with the dotted streams. There are a few elements in this pattern that remind me a little of Canyon; the dotted circles, the heart shaped flower petals, and of course the brown (although Flower Shower's is much duller) and the orange.

However, I'm still not interested in this pattern. I don't know, maybe it's the color scheme all together, I'm just not into this. What about you guys? You like? If so, why? I feel like I'm not getting it.

Seeing Summer 2014 on Glenna

So my girl Donna blessed me with some sneak peeks of the Summer 2014 prints! And she gave them to us in the form of Glenna! The Glenna is a really good go-to bag for everyday activity. Not too big, but plenty of space inside. There is a Glenna in CaMa on my list that I'm HOPING Santa is looking at ;-)

Remember when I said that sometimes I needed to see the prints on merchandise before I can make my final judgement? Weeeellllll I had to in the cases of Flutterby and Petal Paisley. Here is the original preview:

aaaand here they are on merchandise:

When I first saw Flutterby, it didn't really call to me. I recall saying I had no real comment on it, and that was true. It seemed like something I'd buy for my 12 year old sister. Purple, purple gave me a toothache. I didn't hate it, I just didn't love it.

Looking at it now, I do like it. It's adorable. It screams SUMMERTIME. I can see it in a park at a barbecue or even poolside on a really hot afternoon. The dark purple background tones the sweetness down a little so that saved it.

Will I buy this? Probably, but again, for my sister. I have my eye on another print. Would I keep it if it were gifted to me? Absolutely!

Now, Petal Paisley...this one was a little tricky. When I first saw the preview swatch, I compared it to a survey print from a few months ago that I liked. In my head, I kept seeing the survey print instead of the actual Petal Paisley print.

When I actually took time and looked at PP again, I wasn't too jazzed about it. It was very busy for me, and once again I had to hold my opinion until I saw it on a bag, or wallet, or something!

Looking at it now...I may or may not be in love. It reminds me of Ribbons with the color scheme. I see the dark blue background, the pinks, that teal green, and white.  I bet when we get the actual swatch for PP they will have the same colors. It's the colors that are doing it for me. You all know I don't love paisleys, but it's the colors they use in them that make the difference.

Fanfare I still love! Vera is in need of a new black and white pattern, right? The last one was Night and Day(I'm not counting Camellia, there was a lot of grey in that), which is now retired. Night and Day was black and white and that was IT.

Well Fanfare fits the bill! It's style is what I like to call  fancy-pants, it's quite elegant, to me at least. Yes, it has a small splash of yellow but it's still simple enough. I can see this being a nice accessory print for a nice night out. It's very subtle, not busy like some of the others.

Unfortunately she didn't have a photo for Flower Shower. I haven't see it on anything right now it's still thumbs down for me. I didn't like it when I saw it, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised :-)

Walking in a Vera wonderland....

This is going to be a bit long I think, and there's going to be quite a few gifs to express my feels, so here is my warning to strap yourselves in lol....

First things first:

So if you are reading this, it's clear who won the design battle, Canterbury Magenta of course! And look at how FAB it is! Thank you guys soooo much for your input! Some people wanted a different print, and I've been wondering what print you guys would have liked. I love designing new layouts so comment below with what prints you'd like me to create a layout for next and I'll hop to it!

Secondly, onto real Vera news...its happened guys! Venetian Paisley (VP) and Canterbury Magenta (CaMa) are here, and they are such beauties!!

Honestly, I wasn't too crazy about VP at looked like way too much going on. In those cases I have to wait so see it on merchandise to make a real judgement. I felt the same way about Heather and Jazzy Blooms and I ended up LOVING those prints. Seeing it on items changes things a little for me. Granted, I'm not totally in love with VP still, but it doesn't abhor me like Tutti Frutti did/does/itneedstogoaway.

How I feel about Tutti Frutti i'm not sorry.
But VP is very likeable. I can see why some of you citizens are totally taken with it! It especially looks nice on the hipsters, and that cute Double Take tote! Plus, I absolutely love the chevron interior print! I'm a total sucker for stripe, and chevron is no exception!

Now CaMa is frickin GORGE on stuff...I want everything in it! I love everything about it; the colors, the design, the SIMPLICITY of it. Of course the fact that it's magenta kicks it up an extra notch. Canterbury Cobalt is nice too, the blue pops out as well, but I'm a girlie girl, so pink wins! I also love it because it's a black based print, so it can be a heavy-duty job print, like for work or travel.

I'm honestly torn between stuff! Do I want a hardshell case or a soft one? Do I want the Stay Cooler or a Lunch Bunch? Glenna or Vera? OR PLEATED TOTE?!

Decisions, decisions! Gah I need a second job!

Why? Because on top of that, they have also given me kitchen things in Bittersweet and I NEED THEM OKAY?! Here's my itty bitty very RED kitchen....there needs to be some touches of Vera in there!

Can you visualize it?? I can! It was like they made it for my kitchen!

Also released were some of the holiday items, like the ornaments, warm fuzzy slippers and boots, and CUUUUUTE pet accessories!!!

Some people went APESHIT on the release day. No, really, they went nuts, because some of this stuff is STILL sold out! These pet accessories didn't have a chance, they were snatched up within a few hours. Thank goodness I don't have my dog (yet) or else I would have been devastated.

Moving on, November 21st is a big day. It is the re-release day of Pink Elephants! VeraObsessed has me drooling over her Insta:

Pink Elephants was a Spring 2007 Breast Cancer Awareness color, and it's just ADORABLE! It's hard enough trying to decide what I want for Christmas...this is not helping! You know how much of a sucker I am for pink....

November 21 is also the release of more holiday items like this:

VeraObsessed posted this via @tlglass42, and HOLYMACARONIIWANTITNOOOOW!

It's a flipping robe! A fuzzy warm robe! I cannot with this! Can you imagine this with those Cozy Slippers they have already available?! It supposed to be made from the same material as the Throw Blankets! Holy shit thats insane! Do you know how soft those things are?! I'll never leave my house, or I'll show up to work in a damn robe all winter!
Those throws make you snuggly!
It's retail price is said to be $58 (affordable!) and it'll be offered in Heather, Venetian Paisley, Midnight Blues, Tutti Frutti (ugh) and Ribbons (yay!). Honestly, I really wish they'd throw me a bone and include Olivia Pink in cute stuff like this! Good thing I love Ribbons and Heather or I'd be a little ticked! The colors are the same ones that are offered for the slippers so it makes sense...but aww.

Theres a couple more things to talk about, but I'll take a breather and come back later with more.

Happy holidays and Happy shopping y'all!

P.S. - Just speculating, Cyber Monday is coming and you better hold onto your hats! They've been counting down for a reason, and I have a feeling/hoping it's going to be for a goooood reason!

Designer's block

This is more of a Shay Share....I need help!

I'm thinking of changing my layout to go along with the release of Canterbury Magenta....but I LOVE Olivia Pink!!!! I had planned on leaving this layout for a while but the desktop wallapapers came out the other day and now I'm torn!

What should I do?!?!

Gah! Olivia Pink has my heart but that Magenta in CM really POPS! Decisions, a sistah out!

Which layout should I choose? free polls

Expect me to gab about the November 7th releases and the winter items in depth soon!

Baby on board!

I'm currently sitting on a bus on the way to grad school, and I felt the need to randomly update before I'm bogged down with work. This is my first post from my phone, so let's see how this goes. I can't add my tags yet, I'll add them later.

I think I've posted a lot this month...October is turning out to be crazy as hell, in both good and bad ways. Here's some good for ya:

So a few posts ago I threw out into the universe that the powers-at-be in Veraland might be wrapping up the baby line. I figured since they were retiring Lola and Lilli Bell, which are two out of the three prints on the line. WELLLLLL I like to be wrong in this case!

As always my Vera-godmother Veraobsessed dropped one on me and I am loving this:

Do you see?! Not only are there baby clothes in Clementine and it looks like Flutterby, but I SEE BABY BOY CLOTHES!

My feels! I can't contain them!
 photo feels_zps16def63e.gif

Yes, from what it looks like, they are launching a line for boys! I'm thinking that it's in Venetian Paisley, I'm making out the blue and white chevron from the interior print it comes in. But VeraObsessed thinks it's Blue Bayou since the other colors are Spring 2014 colors as well, which makes sense. Score for them, because there are some citizens of Veraland that have baby boys, it's time for all babies to be dressed in Vera equally!

Also a cute surprise: the bottom rack has some SWIMSUITS on there!!! OMG I can't! Can you imagine cute little legs running on the beach with a Vera swimmie on?! I die! This is making me want one of my friends to hurry up and have a baby already (because I'm not lol)!!

So there is some hope for the new items replacing the retired stuff. They've gotten a couple brownie points since the retirement bomb dropped on us, here's to hoping that there is more good stuff up their sleeves!

Sidebar: *waves* to my visitors from Facebook! Thanks to VeraObsessed for sending you guys my way!

Out with the old, In with the New

So my last post I was a little manic. Sorry not sorry. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who was pissed, quite a few people feel that it's getting a bit crazy. Plus, every other day is a discount, sale, or huge coupon in my mail! I'll never complain about a coupon, but they sure send them at the wrong times for me! I just paid rent!

But anywhoo, now that a few days have passed and I've calmed a little, I'm trying to see the silver lining in all of this: new items! I wasn't too excited about this at first. I was VERY skeptical because they were taking things I LOVE off of the line, my faves wouldn't come out in new prints and that made me grrrrrrrr....until my Vera-Godmother VeraObsessed (via Donna) shared this with me:

Guys, you all KNOW how much I love Olivia Pink, so of COURSE I'm sold on this! This is just one of the new winter items to be released on November 7. It's a Gym Bag and it's making me forget why I was missing the Small Duffel. I LOVE the addition of pockets outside and netted pockets inside. So convenient!

Here are some of the other items set to be released:

I see slippers, I see PJs, I see a cute little jewelry box that is just waiting for my things! This stuff is niceeeee!! A few things are replacements for the styles that have been or will be retired. The Turn Lock Satchel is the new Bowler, the Small Gym Bag is the new Small Duffel, and the Pleated Tote has come back from the dead... it's ALL good!

This isn't all of them, all I can say is that there are enough things coming out that have me seeing a little less red, and will have me hoping for more green to buy this stuff...unless they decide to retire this stuff next season or something (I kid, I kid).

Gah those slippers look so comfy! Like my feet will feel like they're walking on clouds! As usual, I'm hoping EVERYTHING comes in Olivia Pink. Especially the PJs and slippers!

OOO and how could I forget about the stuff for home?!?!

Good lord there are APRONS, RECIPE BOOKS, AND TOWELS WITH CUTE LITTLE DESSERTS ON THEM! How adorable are these?!?!

Now my kitchen is red, white, and black, so as much as I would love to have an Olivia Pink kitchen, it's just not in the cards....but that's what Bittersweet is for! I see it on the table in the pic so I'm hoping that it comes in the apron and towels as well.

Also coming out soon are the holiday items! I know there are robes (soft, fluffy and plush ones), The Radko Ornament (cutest Santa holding a Venetian Paisley bag...but it's limited, only 750 exist so get it while you can!), and they're bringing Pink Elephants back for this November 21st release, maybe only for the Holiday gifts?

Looks like Vera-Land citizens will be spending a lot this Christmas!
